One of the first prints available from the "On The Road" series.
- Taken in Moab, Utah. This was my second visit during my time on the road trip. My partner and I had slept in the car amongst piles of our belongings and camped in the desert which in the earliest days of April can be quiet cold... Ironically, I had been in Moab a month prior, and the desert was holding above freezing at night and getting up to 70-80 degrees during the day. We enjoyed the wonders of the entirely foreign and new landscape, but I kept finding myself looking down and at the smaller things.
These shadows which were cast on the sand from a nearby bush stopped me in my tracks. I was mesmerized as the shadows danced. I watched and soon picked out a pattern that I saw repeating and did my best to capture it in it's most natural state. I am provoked to think of leather, or a worn piece of brown paper. While the smooth lines also remind me of silk, or satin.
